Good Bye 2021, Hello 2022

2022 Happy New Year New Year's Reflections and Resolutions

Happy New Year!!! 🎉🎆🥂 I’ve written New Year’s Reflections and Resolutions for many years now, and this time I’d like to share some of my thoughts on my new blog! Feel free to take some inspiration, and keep me accountable on my goals.

2021 New Year’s Reflections

I usually go through the main events that happened in the past year, but I’ll keep those to myself. Instead, I’ll make a list of things I loved that I want to continue and things I didn’t like that I want to discontinue.

2021 Love

  • Travel
    • BC/AB Roadtrips
    • Switzerland
    • Italy
    • Denmark
    • Vancouver
    • Victoria
  • Relationships
    • Spent more than half the year physically together with my long distance boyfriend!! So incredibly grateful and happy about that
    • Spent lots of time with mom and bro, making many fun memories

    • Thigh fat decreased!!
      • My thighs carry my most stubborn fat and have been chunky since I was in gr 8-9. But I’ve finally seen a bit of decrease in this past year! Kinda a tiny huge deal for me. Exercising works! Probably not noticeable to others, but I don’t mind, as long as I can notice it, I’m over the moon 🙂
  • Spend lots of time outdoors
    • VanDusen Garden
    • Beach
    • Queen Elizabeth Park
    • Tulip garden
    • Apricot picking
    • Buntzen Lake
    • Joffre Lake
    • Squamish
    • Victoria/Vancouver Island

2021 Discontinue

  • A job that drains my soul
    • I want a job that excites me, challenges me, and makes me learn interesting things everyday. I want to leap out of bed excited to start the day like I did in school. It’s ok if it’s difficult, but it’s not ok if it’s boring.
    • Don’t want to do “manual labour” tasks
  • Tutoring
    • I’ve been tutoring since 2014, it’s fun and a great side job. But I think it’s time for me to move on to more advanced side hustles

Career

  • GET A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Currently looking for a software engineering job
    • I want to be on a team that cares about its teammates, treats them with respect, and looks out for each other. A team that works on purposeful projects and works hard to achieve amazing goals. A team that takes time to help its teammates through challenges. A team that has fun and gets to know each other.
  • Side hustle
    • Been very interested in trying out entrepreneurial side hustles – online stores, providing a service, passive income, etc…

Health/Exercise

  • Get 3rd vaccine shot
  • Same sports as 2021
  • Consistency with workouts
    • They don’t have to be long or super difficult, just keep a consistent routine
